Episode 2

I feel like I have hit on what I want this podcast to be, even s it continues to evolve: the radio station that I'd listen to. Typically I find myself bored by both radio stations and dance floors because they are constrained by genre but my sense of music that is worth exploring and experiencing is not. One of my favorite dance floors was Black Betty in Williamsburg BKLYN 2002-2006. There was a DJ, whose name I should know, who played great dance sets as if genre was somewhat irrelevant. As someone touched by music across genres, he was the first best example for me of what it meant to put together the expanse of music you loved with no regard to genre. He played great sets that sometimes left me temporarily ambivalent but, overall, incredibly impressed. I wish to emulate that with less respect to BPM. I want to beat match because I want to hold onto the skill but more than that I want to create sets of seemingly incongruent music that feel cohesive because, ultima...
